THERMOPLASTICS

Conductive

Imparting conductivity to thermoplastics is always a challenging task. Typical conductive carbon blacks are fragile and prone to break, making them difficult to work with. CarbonX strong, isotropic, shear insensitive structure ensures the highest level of homogeneity of the final product, even when high shear is applied.

,

EMI / IoT

The increase in the adoption of advanced electronics makes the need for EMI shielding more critical in many markets such as automotive, electronics and military. CarbonX, alone or in synergy with other materials such as carbon fibres, can provide shielding levels up to 85 dB, with all the benefits of carbon-reinforced thermoplastics in terms of price, lightweight, and processability.

,

Engineered Plastics

High mechanical reinforcement and electrical conductivity are the key achievements that make thermoplastics a viable and safe lightweight alternative to metal, especially in the automotive and aerospace industries. The ability to load high percentages of CarbonX in most Thermoplastic materials opens new opportunities in terms of mechanical reinforcement. Depending on the selected grade, mechanical reinforcement can be coupled with electrical conductivity in the ESD and conductive regime.

Cables

The semiconductive layer is one of the critical safety components of power cables. High levels of conductivity together with the smooth and defect-free surface are the demanding requirements the conductive filler has to meet. CarbonX intrinsic high conductivity, cleanliness and small aggregate size make our materials the perfect match for this application.
